RESEARCH GROUPS, COLLABORATION AND COOPERATION AGREEMENTS

I am responsible for two Quebec research teams working on Universal Grammar and the Logic of Discourse : towards a Computational Theory of Communication and Action Coordination (research grant of the Quebec Research Council on Society and Culture) and Speech Acts in Dialogue (research grant of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada).
Several philosophers, logicians, computer scientists, linguists and psychologists of other countries collaborate to research projects: John Searle (Berkeley), Marc Dominicy and Paul Gochet (Brussels), Frans van Eemeren (Amsterdam), Raimo Tuomela (Helsinki), Francis Jacques and J.-P. Desclés (Paris), Denis Vernant (Grenoble), Alain Trognon (Nancy), Nuel Belnap (Pittsburgh), Susumu Kubo (Matsuyama), S. Rahman (Lille) and Jacques Virbel (Toulouse). Certain official cooperation agreements have been signed with foreign institutes such as the department of logic of Lødz (Poland), the Nancy Research Laboratory on Human Interaction (France) and the Center of Logic, Epistemology and History of Science of Campinas (Brasil), etc.
In order to announce and discuss work in progress, I have organized with collaborators international interdisciplinary conferences such as the colloquia Language, Thought, Action at Quebec city during ACFAS conference in May 2008, Attitudes and Actions in Discourse at Trois-Rivières during ACFAS conference in May 2007, Logic & Dialogue at Grenoble (France) October 29-31, 2002 [ Programme (PDF) ]; Action, Attitudes & Decision at Trois-Rivières, October 3-5, 2002 [ Programme (PDF) ], the Decade Langage, Raison, Pensée - Language, Reason, Thought at Cerisy-la-Salle (France) in June 1994 and the International Meeting on Language, Logic & Artificial Intelligence at Fortaleza (Brasil) in July 1998.
