Brain preparation to show fibre tracts and nuclei
Haffajee, MR
Summary
It should be noted that after Klinger's preparation the brains appear more porous under magnification possibly due to the presence of ice-crystals formed when thawing. This also assisted in making the tracts more definable for dissection. The procedure described above may be supplemented by using a number of other useful techniques such as: opacification of the arterial tree or filling of the ventricles with a transparent resin (Thompsett, 1970).
